music video monday ~ 1 (2)
Your mum does the washing / you pay her one dollar / you get her to do your mate's washing / he pays you 50 dollars

I'm going to drop the first video and the first recommendation here again because no one was paying attention at the beginning of indoor animal and these two things were major reasons why I started this newsletter to begin with.

I was sharing this Joshua Idehen video back in December of 2024 with friends and family because it delighted me so much! I had no idea what it was or what to call it, but I wanted other people to see it. Hence, indoor animal found its first mvm video. It's been a wild ride with 50 videos in all. I may have to go back at some point and see what I highlighted and what I wrote. Hopefully it ages well...

Joshua Idehen - "Mum Does The Washing" (Dir. Iman Omar)

Original newsletter wording...

This is as good a place to start as any.

I still watch music videos. I watch them because I like all kinds of music and because the videos can be little pockets of experimental visual art. Now, each Monday, I plan to share a new video with you because, as they say, sharing is caring. I hope each video will serve as a spark for your own creative endeavors.

The lyrics had me laughing and the beat stuck with me after the video ended. Be sure to stick around for the dance sequence at the end. I hope you enjoy. I did.

indoor animal was curated by a human: Tim Papciak. On Mondays, he shared one link to one music video to help spark creativity in himself and in other creative types. On Thursdays, he recommended a book, movie, show, art piece, or link to some dusty corner of the internet that he believes either 1.) added to the human experience, or 2.) served as a coping mechanism in the year 2025. Note: this was not, and was never meant to be, self-help content. Now, it is 2026 and Tim is rethinking what indoor animal is...
