music video monday ~ 33
Oh, but please / Please wake me / But my love lies patiently

Happy Labor Day! May your laboring be purposeful and happy, whatever you're working on. And may the universe bless your efforts with rest and reward in equal parts, while you're doing the work and at its end.

This music video – from LCD Soundsystem, called "oh baby" – may be one of my favorites – and it follows two characters doing work, so it's an appropriate choice for today. There's a silent film happening as the song plays – and it's a pretty great sci-fi one at that. Check out the sick production design:

Oh baby / You're having a bad dream / Here in my arms

It's pretty weird and wild. There's a lot to enjoy throughout, but I particularly like that they choose to blur out the mathematical formula early on, because we wouldn't want that falling into the wrong hands.

Oh sugar / Give in to me / You're just having a bad dream

Even if the full-length feature film was three-hours long, like Oppenheimer, I'd probably watch it twice.

Oh, but please / Please wake me / But my love lies patiently

You'd be crazy not to. I mean, the video's directed by Rian Johnson and starring Sissy Spacek and David Strathairn. Kind of an all-star team. Watch it, pal.
