music video monday ~ 14
'Cause now I'm in it / But I've been trying to find my way back for a minute

PTA, or Paul Thomas Anderson for those not in the know, is a director whose films I will see in the theaters without watching their trailers. His work is relentlessly cinematic and I enjoy it. Barring any nuttiness in America, he will release his 10th film this year. On the side – you know, just in between films – he directs music videos. Below is one of them for the band HAIM called "Now I'm in it". The visuals are classic PTA. Moving shots, one of the tools in his toolbox, are on display here. Full disclosure: I've even watched this video with the sound off once. (And check out that side-eye.)

Something in the way that I felt when I woke up
Told me that I shouldn't give in, give up hope

HAIM - "Now I'm In It" (dir. Paul Thomas Anderson)

indoor animal is curated by a human: Tim Papciak. On Mondays, he shares one link to one music video to help spark creativity in himself and in other creative types. On Thursdays, he recommends a book, movie, show, art piece, or link to some dusty corner of the internet that he believes either 1.) adds to the human experience, or 2.) serves as a coping mechanism in the year 2025. Note: this is not, and never will be, self-help content.
