Love me a song with a long intro.* "I Will Possess Your Heart" by Death Cab for Cutie, for example. And this song: "Cold Little Heart" by Michael Kiwanuka. The intros are cut out in the radio edit, but I like hearing them as intended. Something cinematic about a slow-building, lengthy intro. A few other things to like about today's video:
- The cinematography – see the screen grab above.
- Weather as metaphor.
- Lakeith Stanfield.
- Makes me think of the opening theme for Big Little Lies on HBO, because it used the same song. The kids dancing in the opening credits always makes me smile.
- It's mood music. Enjoy.
