I feel like I'm entering my grunge phase as a creative type, so let's take a trip back to the era of grunge for the music video for "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" by The Smashing Pumpkins (dir. Samuel Bayer). It's a real high-energy snack. Enjoy!

I find watching this video in the year 2025 interesting. When I first saw this video, I wanted to be in it. (Being covered in mud with a bunch of people and listening to a great band seems like a grand ol' time to me.) Now, when I watch the video, my brain understands that that all really happened. Those people got to experience that. And I realize that AI can't replace the experience of creation. It's either 100-plus people covered in mud in Simi Valley in September of 1995, or it isn't.

The look on the background actor's face in the screenshot below is how I feel when I'm making something out in the real world and not just sitting in a comfortable chair and having a computer do it for me.
