music video monday ~ 39
Then you'd know that we'd been taught all this from day one

Here goes another one from Bon Iver's latest album "SABLE, fABLE", which I truly enjoyed. (I wrote more about it here.) This song's called "Day One" and there's a lot to like about it, but I really enjoy this verse:

Some may say that you lack the stuff
And you burn it down and clack your cuffs
But you may have to toughen up
While unlearning that lie

This one's a cute video idea, well executed, and it stays on the same theme as the last one that having folks dress up like Justin Vernon is both charming and funny – like the video for "There’s A Rhythmn / Au Revoir". It also doesn't hurt the piece when folks like Cristin Milioti show up:

Well, can I get a rewind? / Just this once, if you don't mind / I don't know who I am without ya

I was going to say it feels like they missed an opportunity not having Justin himself there – you know, for comedy – but, I'm pretty sure, fairly sure, that near the end, he's the one in the camo hat, sunglasses, and black tee. I think that that is Flock of Dimes and Dijon, those featured on the song, singing around the same time. But what do I know?
