music video monday ~ 43
A catchy beat? Fun lyrics? Central Park? Meg White? Jack White? Michel Gondry and his delightfully surreal Lo-Fi filmmaking? All elements that'll intrigue me. The White Stripes inspired me for years by doing things their own way. Unfortunately, you can't avoid "Seven Nation Army" these days. It's everywhere, which kind of ruins it for me.
But back to the video for "The Hardest Button to Button". The video worked well enough that the Simpsons eventually did an homage to it (video also below). That alone used to be an indicator that you were doing something right. Monday!

The White Stripes - "The Hardest Button to Button" (Dir. Michel Gondry)
The Simpsons - "Jazzy and the Pussycats" (Dir. Steven Dean Moore)
indoor animal is curated by a human: Tim Papciak. On Mondays, he shares one link to one music video to help spark creativity in himself and in other creative types. On Thursdays, he recommends a book, movie, show, art piece, or link to some dusty corner of the internet that he believes either 1.) adds to the human experience, or 2.) serves as a coping mechanism in the year 2025. Note: this is not, and never will be, self-help content.
