2025. It was an odd year.*
indoor animal started one year ago as a way to: share some things I liked and felt warranted being shared; keep myself on a writing schedule where what I wrote could be viewed by the public instead of existing only on my laptop; and, as a way to beat the machines by creating a tiny, human space on a digital landscape that is increasingly dominated by bots, algorithms, LLMs, and AIs. The first two goals I feel I achieved, while the third goal I scored a victory in the same fashion as The Strokes in the video for their song “The Adults Are Talking”.
But these days, I celebrate even the smallest of victories. So I'm like...
...Because even on the internet, even on streaming services, even on social media, we, the humans, are still the home team. The robots are the visiting team. Lest I forget.
